5 Tips for Creating Effective Social Media Content

DEFINE YOUR GOALS

Before you start posting, take some time to define your goals. What do you want to achieve with your social media presence?

Once you know your goals, you can create content that is aligned with those objectives.

FIND YOUR AUDIENCE

Building a business Facebook page from scratch has it’s challenges. If your friends and family are not part of your target audience, don’t add them. Sure they are supportive, but your message needs to resonate with your potential customers. Think instead about the GROUPS in your area who could use your products and services and join their group. Just don’t over post.

CREATE A CONTENT CALENDAR

A content calendar will help you plan and schedule your posts in advance. This will ensure that your content is consistent and aligned with your goals.

MIX IT UP AND MONITOR THE RESULTS

 Mix it up

Don’t just post links to your blog posts or website. Mix up your content by posting images,

videos, infographics, and other types of content. This will help you keep your followers engaged.

What is Working

Heard of vanity goals? They are all about how many people you reach, who liked your post, and comments they've shared. I always pay attention to the comments as you can gain insights into the messaging you're serving up. And sadly, there are so many spammy "bots" you have to know how to BLOCK people and hide comments too! You can't just post something and forget about it. So think instead, what do I want the reader to do now that they read my post?

Consumers are more savvy and doubtful than in years past. If you hit them with a sales offer every time, you will lose them.

Once you know your goals, you can create content that is aligned with those objectives. We'll help you.
